Overview

Education Careers I provides the foundation for employment in education and related careers and for study in higher education. The program uses an active learning approach that utilizes higher order thinking, communication, leadership, and management processes to study education and related careers. Topics include: the teaching profession, the learner and the learning process, instruction planning, the learning environment, and instructional and assessment strategies. Students will explore teaching through field experiences in local elementary classrooms and preschools. Students are monitored and evaluated during their field experiences throughout year one and two.

 

Industry Certifications

CPR/AED Professional Rescuer Certification
Testing required. Fees apply. Does not qualify for Technical Honors Diploma or Graduation Pathways certification.
