Overview

Cosmetology students complete 1,500 hours of required instruction over two years to meet licensure requirements set by the Indiana State Board of Cosmetology. To fulfill these hours, students must complete both Year 1 and Year 2 of the program and also attend two summer school sessions. Those who meet the requirements are eligible to take the state licensing examination. As part of their training, students operate the Whitewater Salon, where they gain real-world experience working with clients while completing the necessary hours for licensure.

You Will Learn:

  • Hair, skin, scalp, and nail care
  • Hair styling and coloring
  • Facials and manicuring
  • Applied anatomy and physiology
  • Salon management
