Overview

Cosmetology II students complete the 1500 hours of required instruction and 1010 treatments learning advanced skills in styling, hair coloring, permanent waving, facials and manicuring. Students will also study anatomy and physiology, professionalism, and salon management in relation to cosmetology. Students operate the Whitewater Salon to complete license requirements and gain experience working with clients.

Next Steps

Upon completing the program and successfully passing the State Board examination, students earn their cosmetology license and are prepared to begin employment in a salon. Many graduates also choose to pursue 2- or 4-year degrees in areas such as business, fashion design, or related fields, often working in salons while completing their studies. In addition, the dual credits earned through this program count toward the Associate of Science in Cosmetology degree at Vincennes University, giving students a head start on their postsecondary education.

The documents were developed by WCC teachers, in cooperation with business partners and industry advisory committees, and are updated each year.
