Overview

Automotive Collision Repair Technology II introduces concepts in auto paint with an emphasis on the handling of materials and equipment. Additional academic skills taught in this course include precision measurement and mathematical calibrations as well as scientific principles related to adhesive compounds, color mixing, abrasive materials, metallurgy, and composite materials. The lab operates as a body shop, and students gain experience with restoration projects for customers.

When you Finish

Upon completion of this program, you are prepared for entry-level employment in the collision industry. You may also enter an apprenticeship, join the military, or continue your education in 2 and 4-year degree postsecondary programs. Dual credits earned in this program are requirements for the A.S Collision Repair and Refinishing degree at Vincennes University.

Industry Certifications

Testing required. Fees may apply. Passing any of the four ASE sections listed below qualifies for Technical Honors Diploma and Graduation Pathways certification.

Student Evaluation

After the completion of two years in the program, students are evaluated on technical and essential skills. The Technical Skills Evaluation documents the Automotive Collision Technology skills learned. The Essential Skills Evaluation documents the workplace skills all WCC students learn. The documents were developed by WCC, in cooperation with business partners and industry advisory committees, and are updated each year.
